Guacamole with Pomegranate Seeds
Guacamole is a favorite snack item among Americans and especially during football season.
53.5 million pounds of avocados are consumed on Super Sunday
If you are one of the millions planning to chow on some chips and dip, I suggest making your guac a but different by adding fresh pomegranate seeds instead of tomato.
Tomatoes are not in season in the winter months in the United States. Sure they are available in the stores because consumers expect and demand unseasonal produce but they travel far, are not as fresh and have less flavor than when in season. Pomegranates are a fun alternative to tasteless tomatoes. They add a bursting texture and a subtle sweet tart flavor. I haven't had a guest not love it.
